SMAC Leadership Training for Christ

Leadership Training for Christ is an organization designed to stimulate and encourage spiritual, mental, and social growth among students in grades three through twelve. All South MacArthur 3rd thru 12th graders are encouraged to get involved in LTC. The South MacArthur church coordinator is Dawn Deitmen. Dawn serves on the LTC Board of Directors. Dawn introduced South MacArthur to the LTC organization in 1997. One student participant represented South Mac that year. South Mac has since grown to more than 100 student participants with more than 40 adult leaders involved each year.

Dawn Deitmen serves on the NTLTC Convention Staff as the coordinator for Signing for the Deaf. Also serving on the NTLTC Convention Staff is Connie Jennings, who serves as the coordinator for Chorus. There are nine convention sites nationwide, and one international convention and some conventions hosting participants at multiple sites. Students from South MacArthur participate at the DFW Hyatt Hotel, along with nearly 2000 other youth.
